Love in the Time of COVID-19…
Megan and Erik planned to say their vows a beautiful venue, surrounded by all their family and friends. But the global pandemic had other plans, and they had to postpone their big celebration until next year. Instead of feeling sorry for themselves, they decided to do a last minute elopement at Talcott Mountain State Park in Connecticut.
Elopements have a special sort of excitement to them. They feel epic and adventurous, and not just because you are on the side of a mountain. ⛰ They are sacred, authentic, and so incredibly special. Don’t get me wrong… I love a big wedding. But big weddings aren’t for everyone. And given what’s happening in the world, a simple and intimate getaway might be just what we all need.
We all hiked up to a gorgeous overlook where Megan and Erik said their vows in front of their parents and siblings. Afterwards, we all popped some champagne and explored the mountainside taking amazing photos to capture the day.
The light was perfect. They were perfect.
On our way back down the mountain Erik turned to me and said, “There was no way I could have waited another year to marry her.”
