When it came time to take Shelby and Neal’s engagement photos, their only request was to incorporate cows. As an animal lover myself, I was totally down for the idea! Off we went to spend the day at their friend’s farm in Williston, Florida, where I took their engagement photographs surrounded by the cutest cows and chickens – and a gorgeous last-minute sunset!
Shelby and Neal have a special place in my heart. In addition to being badass nurses during this pandemic, they are an incredibly fun and authentic couple. I met Shelby several years ago as a bridesmaid at a wedding I was photographing. She had me laughing all day, while also raving about a new guy she was dating. Fast forward a year, and I got to see Shelby again at another wedding. She was a bridesmaid once again, but this time, her date was the very guy she had been telling me all about!
I met Neal on the dance floor where he showed me (and my camera) his sick dance moves. It was clear from the beginning that he was a perfect match for Shelby. Later that night, Shelby stopped to tell me that she wanted me to shoot her wedding one day… so you can imagine my excitement when she booked me several months later!
Despite having to Photoshop out way too much cow poop afterwards, I absolutely loved photographing their fun and unique Southern-style engagement session. (And I’m even more excited for their upcoming wedding, when I finally get to photograph Shelby as a bride!)
