James and Samantha decided to do a themed engagement session at Elizabeth Park in West Hartford, Connecticut before their 2020 autumn wedding. The photographs from this “picnic in the park” turned out to be magical! (I honestly don’t know if I’ve ever seen two people so head-over-heels in love with one another.)
We first met each other in my home studio for a wedding consultation. As we all shared a glass of champagne together, James and Samantha were so warm and friendly that we felt like old friends. I was convinced I absolutely HAD to photograph their wedding. Thankfully, so were they! (Although I suspect it was my two dogs who really “sealed the deal.”)
For their engagement photographs, they wanted to do something extra special. After throwing around a few ideas with each other, we decided to have a romantic picnic in Elizabeth Park at sunset. And then the planning began! I picked up some flowers, wine, and candles, and set up a beautiful spread for them to enjoy during their session.
James serenaded Samantha with his guitar (and stole my heart), and their precious Labrador made a special appearance! It was a wonderful evening, in every way.
Needless to say, I am so excited to shoot their Autumn 2020 wedding in New England. My team and I will be doing both the photography and videography on the big day – so be on the lookout for their wedding masterpiece next year!
